They cleaned well and left our skin feeling renewed

Our good friends and neighbors, the Butchkoski family, introduced us to their family owned soap business Stonefield Soaps  Not only did their soaps look great and smell good, we soon found they cleaned well and left our skin feeling renewed. I, being a chemist at a nearby pharmaceutical company, began to wonder what was different about their composition that gave them these great properties. So I asked.

They told me how they researched the ingredients to add to their soap and gave me a pamphlet listing all of them. Two ingredients were coconut oil and palm kernel oil, which both contain high concentrations (50%) of lauric acid and  monolaren. These have just the right molecular weight, melting point, and size to penetrate dead skin cells on the skin’s surface and moisten dry skin, as well as carry the vitamins (from added goats milk) and antioxidants (vitamin E) into the skin and even into the skin cells to some extent. In addition, these two oils have been shown in laboratory tests to be antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal, which should help one’s skin clear with repeated use.

Olive oil and Shea Butter retain water molecules preventing rapid drying of the skin by the sun and air. Hence, the soft, natural feeling that using their soap leaves after you rinse and dry.

I think our friends have a good product and I wish them much success.
